  17. </p>
  18. <p>     They are not the first rocker-supermodel couple to procreate,
  19. but they are certainly the most likable. Last week PAULINA PORIZKOVA,
  20. wife of RIC OCASEK, former leader of the Cars, gave birth to
  21. her first child, an 8-lb. 3-oz. boy named Jonathan Raven. The
  22. Czech beauty and children's-book author didn't seem too distraught
  23. over losing her mannequin's physique during her pregnancy. She
  24. posed for a Demi Moore-esque photo in Vogue and said of her
  25. seventh-month look: "I'm at the fleshy cantaloupe stage."
  26. </p>
  27. <p>The Age of Elegance
  28. </p>
  29. <p>     There were no elephant rides, no torchlit beaches, no bare feet.
  30. The sort of eccentricity that has characterized other impromptu
  31. celebrity nuptials this year (think Geena Davis, Kim Basinger,
  32. Julia Roberts) was happily absent at the demure wedding of MICHELLE
  33. PFEIFFER to former hockey player, attorney and Emmy Award-winning
  34. writer DAVID KELLEY. The couple, who had planned to marry next
  35. spring, quietly gathered together 50 guests for game hen and
  36. champagne at the home of a Pfeiffer family friend in Santa Barbara,
  37. California. Most amazing, not Ramtha, Marianne William-son or
  38. any other trendy Hollywood holy person conducted the ceremony.
  39. A Presbyterian minister did it. Afterward, there was one unconventional
  40. touch: Pfeiffer's adopted baby daughter, Claudia Rose, wearing
  41. a ringlet of roses on her head, was christened.

  43. <p>Just Call Him Axl Rose
  44. </p>
  45. <p>     Pearl Jam's Eddie Vedder evinced no sign of his contemplative,
  46. nouveau hippie side during a visit to a New Orleans bar last
  47. week. The alternative-rock star reacted in a very conventional
  48. rock-star way to a stranger's verbal assault: he spat on the
  49. passerby and provoked a punching match. Eddie, who was partying
  50. with Chicago White Sox pitcher and hobby rocker Jack McDowell,
  51. was arrested and later released on $600 bond.

  53. <p>SEEN & HEARD
  54. </p>
  55. <p>     Gossip columns have been abuzz with word that John F. Kennedy
  56. Jr. and Daryl Hannah are going the way of Ted and Whoopi. Fuel
  57. for the fire: John was recently sighted bicycling in New York
  58. City's Central Park with a distinctly non-Daryl blond.
  59. </p>
  60. <p>     In other less traumatizing child-of-a-former-President uncoupling
  61. news: Patti Davis did not marry builder Paul C. Hayeland, 28,
  62. as planned. The middle-aged celebrity problem child of Ronald
  63. </p>
  64. <p>     Cantankerous attorney and media flirt Alan Dershowitz is not
  65. flattered by the fact that the Sean Penn character (a smarmy
  66. coke-loving lawyer) in the guns-and-disco movie Carlito's Way
  67. bears a striking resemblance to him. Dershowitz has yet to see
  68. the film but has already spoken to Universal's counsel to express
  69. his concerns.
